Fans of the $1-per-night kiosk DVD rentals will have to shell out more money for new releases -- if they want to see them the day they come out.

The Los Angeles Times has reported that 20th Century Fox signed a content distribution deal with NCR Corp., which operates kiosks under the Blockbuster brand, that will test prices higher than $1 per night for new releases the day they come out on DVD. According to the agreement, premium prices will be tested under the assumption that the public is willing to pay to be first in line to see new DVDs. When 28 days have elapsed after a DVD's initial release, Fox will then provide the DVDs for rental at $1 per night. It's a similar deal to the one Universal Pictures signed with NCR last month.

Studio execs have been wringing their hands for a while now over the $1-per-night rentals offered by NCR and its larger competitor, Redbox, fearing those low-priced rentals would undermine the sale of new DVD releases. The new prices could help them turn a profit -- or turn off customers who have gotten used to paying only $1 to see the latest flicks. Studios reached an initial solution with Redbox to delay new releases by 28 days.

With fierce competition from Netflix and Movies on Demand, it's hard to imagine that higher prices will entice anyone to get off the couch, get in the car and drive to the nearest kiosk just to be the first to rent a hot new movie.

The higher price point for new DVDs has yet to be determined, but we do know that the first movie Fox will use to test its premium pricing will be the action-comedy caper 'Knight and Day,' due Nov. 30. That will be most likely be followed by 'The A-Team,' the Times reported.

What do you think? Are you willing to pay top dollar to rent movies the day they come out?

The 90-pound angsty heroine of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' Lisbeth Salander, was portrayed by Noomi Rapace in the 2009 Swedish film based on Stieg Larsson's bestselling book. Now that Sony Pictures is doing a remake, set to be released in December 2011, there's been much speculation about who should be cast to play the intriguing, bisexual hacker who helps a journalist solve a 40-year-old murder mystery.

David Fincher will direct, and if his previous projects ('Se7en,' 'Fight Club' and 'Zodiac') are any indication, he won't shy away from the cold and dark nature of the book. The blogosphere has been abuzz, with fans of the late Larsson's so-called Millennium Trilogy of 'Girl' books worried that the Hollywood version will dumb down or Americanize these complex characters. But so far, the choice to cast Daniel Craig as the disgraced and charming journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, is spot-on.

Recently a slew of young actresses reportedly screen-tested opposite Craig in full costume. Here's who we think would be best suited to play the coveted role.

Rooney Mara
Mara has already worked with Fincher on 'The Social Network,' and the buzz is that she's the director's first choice for Salander. Mara may have earned some street cred by playing the girl who sneaks the boys into the French boarding school dorm in 'Youth in Revolt.' Only problem is, she may be a little too pretty for the part.

Emily Browning
This chick can kick butt, as seen in previews of the upcoming 'Sucker Punch'. Her short stature will help her to evoke the pint-sized Salander, and she's also been known to say she'd never dye her hair blonde and wear pink miniskirts -- neither would our tattooed heroine.

Ellen Page
Page is definitely the most mainstream actress that Fincher is reported to be considering. She skyrocketed to fame after playing a pregnant teen in 'Juno,' and this summer she hit the big screen again as a dream architect in 'Inception'. Her name will probably bring more buzz to the film. Still, Page has a childish quality to her -- she's the girl who's more likely to rock a tiny heart tat than a full, fire-breathing back piece.

Mia Wasikowska
The actress, who co-stars in this summer's 'The Kids Are All Right,' was an interesting choice for the title role in 'Alice in Wonderland,' and she's already shared screen time with Craig (in 'Defiance'). Still, it's not certain that she could pull off the grittiness that's required for this unconventional role.

Even though the following actresses weren't on the short list to be screen-tested, we still think they'd rock in the role:

Evan Rachel Wood
There's no doubt that Marilyn Manson's fiance would put an entertaining spin on the intelligent and inked-up character of Salander. Even as a child, this unconventional actress was taking on dangerous roles (remember her tongue-piercing from the poster for 'Thirteen'?).

Kristen Stewart
Bella proved that she could step outside her 'Twilight' persona when she did an uncanny Joan Jett impression in 'The Runaways.' Stewart has the coolness and vulnerability for the Salander part, and she could help draw in the young female viewers who haven't yet picked up the book.

Dakota Fanning
The former child star is another 'Runaways' actress that we could see filling the tiny but tough boots of Salander. She surprised us by looking so grown-up as the 'Cherry Bomb' singer, Cherie Currie, and she certainly has the right look and physicality for the role. Plus, there's just something about the pairing of her and Daniel Craig that fits.
Escaping to the movies is a great way to cool off when you're ready to take a break from the beach -- and there's no risk of getting a sunburn.

Here's a guide to what you should see. After you've eaten the last burnt hockey-puck hamburger and watched as one of your neighbors nearly decapitated himself setting off the fireworks he bought on his last trip to South of the Border, it's time for the real Independence Day fun to begin! Escaping to the movies is a great way to cool off when you're ready to take a break from the beach -- and there's no risk of getting a sunburn.

Here's a guide to what you should see.

With a Date: Although it hasn't gotten great reviews, 'Knight and Day,' starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, is a fun choice if you decide in advance not to take things too seriously. Sure, it seems like your typical, formulaic action comedy, but Cruise and Diaz are an attractive couple, and critic Leonard Maltin referred to the movie as "perfect summer fare."

With the Family: 'The Last Airbender' turns animation into a live-action, 3-D film. While the special effects have been criticized, kids never tire of wearing those 3-D glasses. And although director M. Night Shyamalan doesn't always hit the mark, his vision never fails to be interesting. An even better bet might be 'The Karate Kid,' a remake of the 1984 film that features Jackie Chan as Mr. Miyagi. Wax on!

With Your Friends: Lively, sexy and a little bit bizarre, Russell Brand carries 'Get Him to the Greek,' portraying a strung-out rock star that Jonah Hill must ferry to a comeback concert. You'll leave the theater laughing over plenty of funny moments. The only misstep is that the role of record producer is played by Sean Combs (or whatever his name is now), who should probably keep his day job.

With the Girls: Adolescent girls (and big girls who still feel like adolescents at heart) will flock to see 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' this weekend in droves. Edward or Jacob, Jacob or Edward? Those who've read the books will be on the edge of their seats.

With the Guys: Your wife or girlfriend likely doesn't want to see 'The A-Team,' so bring your boys instead. In this rendering of the 1980s TV show, things explode, the heroes save the day and Jessica Biel looks hot.

With Your July 4th Hook-Up: Set in a Nevada bordello (where such places are legal), 'Love Ranch' takes a look at the hookers and johns who inhabit the raunchy ranch. Helen Mirren's performance just may take the sleazy subject matter to the level of high art.

With Anyone You Love: 'Toy Story 3' isn't just for kids, and critics (and fans ) are touting it as the best in the series of films about wide-eyed Woody and Buzz Lightyear. You and whomever you take will leave richer for the experience.

But according to von Trier's business partner, Peter Aalbaek Jensen, the rumors are completely false. "I have seen it [the story] in the Danish film magazine and what is written there is not true," he told Screen Daily.

Rumors first sparked after it was reported that Scorsese and von Trier met in Berlin, which is currently hosting its International Film Festival. Over the weekend, the Internet was abuzz with rumors that heavyweight directors Martin Scorsese and Lars von Trier would collaborate on a remake of Scorsese's 1976 classic 'Taxi Driver.'

Rumors first sparked after it was reported that Scorsese and von Trier met in Berlin, which is currently hosting its International Film Festival.

In the past, von Trier convinced Danish director Jorgan Leth to remake his 1967 film, 'The Perfect Human.' Von Trier challenged the director to take part in a project he called 'The Five Obstructions,' in which the director would redo his film five times, facing a different obstacle with each try. Reporters and film fans had speculated that a 'Taxi Driver' remake would work along the same lines, with Robert De Niro reprising his Oscar-nominated role as Travis Bickle.

But while the two directors did meet at the Berlinale, Jensen said the idea of them remaking 'Taxi Driver' was "rubbish."

Sound off: Are you relieved that the rumors are false?

Well, DreamWorks Studios is giving you the opportunity to do just that -- that is, if you're a teenage boy.

If you think your son or nephew is the next Edward Furlong, bring him out to an open casting call taking place Sunday, Feb. 14 in Chicago or Saturday, Feb. 20 in New York.

In the upcoming 'Real Steel' directed by Shawn Levy ('Night at the Museum'), Jackman will play a former boxer who, with the help of his son, trains a robot to compete in the world championship of robot boxing. But this ain't 'Short Circuit.' The Real Steel robots weight 2,000 pounds and look like humans. Have you ever dreamed of starring opposite Hugh Jackman on the silver screen?
In an exclusive interview with Moviefone, Buscemi talked more about the movie and his passion for making independent films.

One of the funniest parts of the film was when John meets up with a wheelchair-bound stripper (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and gets a lap dance. Was that choreographed?

It wasn't choreographed. There were certain things that [director Hue Rhodes] wanted us to hit that were scripted but then he just let us go with it. We played music and just had fun.

Was it a fun movie to make?

Yeah. Just the cast of characters -- that's what I loved about the structure of the film, this road movie where we get to meet all of these people along the way. It's kind of like a darker Wizard of Oz, with Dorothy getting to the Emerald City, which is Vegas.

You're known for playing crazy character roles but in this movie, you're the leading man. Do you prefer to carry a movie?

What's a leading man? John's certainly not a leading man in the traditional sense. He's a lead in that he's the main character. But to me he still has a lot of character traits that are fun to play.

What attracted you to this role?

I like that John's got stuff that he's dealing with. And that he also has smarts. He's able to figure things out and help with this insurance scam investigation.

He seems very empathetic to the people he meets along the way.

Yeah, he's a real people person! [Laughs] He does have people skills. I think that's something that Virgil kind of sees in him and helps develop, even if he's annoyed by it. I just loved the whole structure, the characters, the dialog.

Do you play scratch-off tickets?

I don't. I don't buy them on my own. I sometimes will get them ... My brother gave me a few, like, as a Christmas present or birthday present. That's the only time I ever do it. My mom does it. My brother does it.

Some people can get pretty obsessive about it, like your character does.

I guess why I don't relate to it is that there's no skill involved. But I understand why John does it because he really believes in luck. And so never knowing when your share of good luck is going to come, you have to buy a card every day. Because you don't want to miss that opportunity when it's your lucky day. So I understand that.

You've worked with great directors such as the Coen brothers. What's it like working with a first time writer/director?

I've done it a number of times. I could tell from the script alone that Hue puts a lot of thought and time into what he does and I figured that would translate into him being a director. It doesn't necessarily mean that it does, but I also saw a couple of short films that he made. And just hearing him talk about it, it felt like he had his own style, his own vision, and it's always refreshing to work with someone who has good, strong ideas.

You're an experienced director. Did you bring any of that to the filming or did you stay in your role as actor?

No. Mostly, I tried to stay in my role as an actor but the company that I have now, Olive Productions, with Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur, we were co-producers on the film, so I did help in terms of casting and in post-production, just looking at various cuts of the film and just giving any advice to Hue where he wanted it. Hopefully I was never intrusive. My interest as a producer was to really make sure that I did whatever I could do to help Hue get his film up on screen. The way he wanted.

I loved the relationship John has with Jill (Sarah Silverman). What do you think makes them work?

I think it's mainly chemistry. They seem so different. But it's that unexplained thing where you know they just sort of compliment each other. And it's good that they're different. It's funny because they get it together and then he's on the road. So immediately they have this long-distance relationship, which is a challenge for any relationship.

When you make an indie do you just hope for the best? There's obviously not as much publicity as, say, 'Avatar.'

Well yeah, it's about getting the word out, getting people to know it's around. That's the challenge. But to me, the measure of success is not how well a movie does in the theaters, it's, "Is it the movie you wanted to make, is that what's being shown?" I really feel like then it will find its audience.

What's up next for you?

Right now I've been working on 'Boardwalk Empire,' this HBO show that's about Atlantic City in the '20s. [I'm] having fun doing that. And then continuing work with the production company that I have with Stanley Tucci called Olive Productions. We've both been actively trying to raise money for films that we want to do.

Not only is he a man you can imagine having actual sex with (no promise rings needed here), he offers something that most Hollywood leading men don't -- a willingness to expose his flaws and vulnerability both on screen and off.
Downey Jr. captured attention for his role in 1987's 'Less Than Zero' and went on to prove his street cred with an Oscar-nominated turn in the title role of 1992's 'Chaplin.' And although his arrest record, known drug use and stints in rehab lend to his bad-boy persona, it's the way he was able to tackle his problems and come out the other side that's really appealing.
When it comes to giving women what they want, Hollywood tends to play things on the safe side. For a while we were forced to choose between the tux-wearing, anti-marriage George Clooney and the buff-and-mellow Matthew McConaughey. RDJ doesn't have the practiced suave of Clooney -- his appeal is more the messy sort -- in a good way. And although from the looks of his fight scene in 'Sherlock Holmes,' RDJ has a body to rival McConaughey's, he doesn't feel the need to display himself for the paparazzi doing push-ups in the sand. Rather, there's something tantalizing about the fact that you'd never guess what was underneath Holmes's Victorian ascots and tweeds.

'Sherlock Holmes' Trailer

While other actors worship at the fountain of youth, trying Botox and face lifts, Downey Jr. wears the signs of his age comfortably (he's 44), telling us that he's secure in his own skin. Eschewing the typical choice of model/nanny/cocktail waitress for a mate, Downey Jr. found his match with a 36-year-old film producer. (Of course, there certainly are many intelligent models/nannies/cocktail waitresses, but isn't it strange that you never hear about actors hooking up with scientists/lawyers/Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists?)

But back to 'Sherlock Holmes.' While the New York Times' A.O. Scott mistakenly deduced that this was a movie for soda-gulping teenage boys to see, he completely overlooked the film's main fan base -- thirtysomething women (like me) who are gaga for Downey Jr. or Jude Law (who plays a sexy, mustachioed Watson). Scott says that the presence of a feisty female character, Irene Adler, (Rachel McAdams) "offers a little something for the ladies," but in fact the reason we're plunking down 12 bucks is to get a glimpse of RDJ naked and chained to a bed. So guys, take your wives and girlfriends to see 'Sherlock Holmes' this weekend. Sure, she may be imaging herself in a cinematic menage a trios with the film's two leading men, but it could still lead to some date night passion -- the sort that those Tom Cruise-types could never inspire.

As fans of the bestselling novel will immediately recognize, the film omits the fact that 14 year-old Susie (Saoirse Ronan) is brutally raped by her neighbor Mr. Harvey (Stanley Tucci) before being killed. Sebold, the book's author, knows firsthand what it means to be raped -- she told the story of her own horrific experience in her memoir, 'Lucky.' To her readers, it's obvious that her personal experience has informed 'The Lovely Bones.' By choosing to make the film more palatable to a PG-13 audience, Jackson takes the sting off of Sebold's story and ultimately does a dishonor to her brave, no b.s. writing.

Jackson was quoted as saying that he and his wife wanted to make the movie "so that it would be watchable by their 13 year-old daughter." It's here that Jackson lets his fatherhood become a conflict of interest when it comes to directing. 'The Lovely Bones' the movie is a white-washed tale. It's upsetting, but not horrific. Jackson, thinking of his own Susie Salmon-aged daughter, can't bear to depict the truth of the situation, so he resorts to toying around with CGI (giving us a vision of Susie's heaven that looks a whole lot like a computer screen-saver). In Jackson's version, Susie's dad Jack (Mark Wahlberg) is the main character -- a good man bent on never giving up the quest to find his daughter.

But this has nothing to do with the book Sebold wrote, which is more about the observation of life from a distance and the inherent sophistication of a teenager who is cut off just as she is on the brink of "crossing over" in a different way -- from childhood to adulthood. By making a movie his daughter could watch (and perhaps underestimating her maturity), Jackson does a disservice to his adult audience.

It's surprising -- not only because the 'Rings' director is one of the most respected filmmakers in Hollywood -- but also because his 'Heavenly Creatures,' the 1994 movie based on the true story of two teenage girls (one of them played by Kate Winslet, in her breakout role) who conspired to murder one of their mothers, was so unflinching. But then again, that was before he and Walsh became parents.

In an exclusive interview, Bridges talked animatedly about his love of music and his father's influence on his career.

In 'Crazy Heart,' Bad Blake is playing bowling alleys, but he still has groupies. Does Jeff Bridges have groupies?

What's the definition of a groupie? Like a fan or a sexual partner?

Well, I know that you've been married forever. So maybe a fan that goes a little too far.

There's been nothing too bad. It's wonderful to have people who appreciate your work. I hope I have people out there who do that. I know sometimes I myself have gushed inappropriately over people whose work I'm knocked out by. And that happens sometimes. But I relate to that, so it doesn't bother me.

The movie really lit up during the scenes where you guys play music. What was it like to film those scenes?

I love playing music and T Bone (Burnett) and Stephen Bruton, the guys in charge of the music, put together wonderful bands. The stuff that was pre-recorded was basically the band that was on the Alison Krauss/Robert Plant album, 'Raising Sand.' The people we played with in the movie were excellent musicians and we played those songs live. We were jamming between takes, playing stuff and having a great time.

You're an accomplished singer and guitarist. How did you get started playing music?

Back when I was a teenager, 14 or 15 I guess ... My brother had an old Danelectro guitar. Probably the first song I worked on was 'Pipeline.' You know that old surf song [he hums a few bars, plays air guitar]?

Oh yeah. Did you ever think of becoming a professional musician instead of an actor?

Oh, absolutely. My father, unlike a lot of people in the acting field, really encouraged all his kids to go into show business, he loved it so much. And you know how kids feel about what their parents want them to do, you know? So I had a lot of resistance to that. "No, Dad, I want to get into music." He said you can put your music into it [acting]. My dad was also a singer. Not too many people know that he replaced Richard Kiley in 'Man of LaMancha' on Broadway. I remember as a kid, him singing 'Guys and Dolls,' he'd go on tour with 'Guys and Dolls.'

What was your way into Bad Blake? What did you relate to about this character?

I approached it the same way I approach all my roles. I looked at aspects of myself that I can use or magnify. So I had the music thing. I certainly love music, country music. I write, and play guitar and perform. Those are things that I could use. I'm not an alcoholic but I've certainly been drunk, hungover, puked. All that stuff. So you can use the knowledge of that. And then I looked for role models, people in my immediate circle, either in my family or near me. And I was really fortunate for this one to have two of my dear friends be my role models and work on the movie. T Bone and Stephen Bruton. Stephen Bruton, especially. His life really parallels Bad's in a way. He was driving himself from gig to gig. He'd had problems with substance abuse. He was a real touchstone for me. Then you go to the next circle -- people like Waylon (Jennings), Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson -- he kind of blurs the line because we all met with T Bone and Stephen Bruton 30 years ago in Montana doing 'Heaven's Gate.' Kristofferson assembled all his musical friends and we had great jam sessions. So Kris was certainly a role model.

In the film Bad Blake either can't or won't write any new songs. Was there ever a time when you felt creatively blocked?

Yeah, sure. I think maybe those are like seasons for creative people. It's like that for me. You'll go through a dry period and it's like summer now and the creeks are flowing so you lay out in the sun. Dig the warmth. Look in the stream bed. Say, oh look at the rocks. I'll photograph these rocks. I think for an artist it's a challenge to dance the dance that's being played. You can spend a lot of energy wishing it was some other way. They're playing a cha-cha, damn it, and I came here to dance a waltz and they will not play a waltz! So do the cha-cha!

In the movie Tommy Sweet (played by Colin Farrell) is the inheritor of Bad Blake's legacy. Is there anyone that you've been a mentor to in real life?

Actually, that's an interesting question. One of my oldest friends, a guy named John Goodwin, we go back to the fourth grade making art and dancing and making music together. He wrote the song 'Hold On You,' the opening song [of the movie]. He was like the core songwriter for that, then T Bone and Bobby Neuwirth and Stephen also wrote on the tune. And I'm starting to give him acting lessons in a pretty structured way. And I've done that with my nephews. It's kind of fun, I'm really enjoying it.

What does an acting lesson consist of?

Teach 'em the basics. All of the stuff my dad taught me when I was a kid.
Get 'Crazy Heart' showtimes & tickets

Do you go through a script or just improvise?

A little of both. You find one scene to work on and then that's the subject of the lesson so you have something to relate to. You talk about all the basic principles and different approaches -- there are so many, I can only talk about my approach, but it's fun. And what makes it more fun and easier is when the student is eager and really into it. That makes a big difference.

Some people I know participate in something called a Lebowski Fest...

I've been to a Lebowski Fest! Oh yeah! I love it! Oh gosh! Well, I'm a big fan of that movie. That's a great movie.

Did you ever think that your character [The Dude] would become such a cult figure?

No, I was very disappointed when it first came out and it didn't do much. But the fact that the Achievers have kept it going is so wild. And it's such a great movie, I'm glad it's got legs.

Do people call you The Dude when you're walking down the street?

Sure, oh yeah. "Dude!" Absolutely.

We're excited to see the sequel to 'Tron' that you made, 'Tron Legacy.' What was it like to revisit the character of Kevin Flynn after all these years?

It was fun. Doing it reminded me of the old movie, in a way. The thing that brought me to the first film was the kid aspect of what I would do. Sometimes acting to me seems like a 'dance pretend.' [They said,] "You want to play a kid who gets sucked inside a computer, and you can use all the cool things that are available technologically?" That was the original and I said, "Oh yeah, that sounds great!" So now almost 30 years later they said you get to do that again, except use even better stuff. This is going to make the old stuff look like black and white TV. But it's kind of the same experience -- exciting and weird.

Are you into computers and technology?

A little bit. I have a website that I enjoy doing. But I have a web mistress, Nicky, who manages that for me, puts it all up. But I get to do the all the artwork. I'm not too technologically advanced. If I don't do it every day I can't maintain it.

Tell me about the 'True Grit' remake you're doing with the Coen Brothers -- will you reference John Wayne's performance or make it totally your own?

I'm going to reference the book and go for the Rooster Cogburn that Charles Portis wrote about in the book. And I think the brothers are doing the same thing.

Is it intimidating to fill those shoes?

I don't feel that way. I suppose I could if I really thought about it. With the brothers, their main direction was, we're going for the book. So that's what I'm looking at.

So getting back to 'Crazy Heart' ... do you have a spot picked out for your Oscar?

[Laughs] I'm not counting any chickens...

But would you be excited?

Excited? Oh yeah!

Aniston is no doubt hoping to bounce back from the disappointing 'Love Happens,' which had her paired up with Aaron Eckhart. The two marched through the predictable rom-com plot line and failed to generate any on-screen chemistry -- or laughs.

Pairing up with Sandler could be movie magic for the actress, though. Although we can't imagine these two hooking up in real life (Sandler is married with babies), we can see the two as a crackling and funny well-matched duo. Aniston is at her best when she's matched with actors that have a special mix of comedic genius and unlikely sensitivity (Vince Vaughn in 'The Break-Up' and Ron Livingston in 'Office Space'). Sandler can also benefit from an on-screen love interest who is more than just a pretty face in a pullover -- Aniston has real acting skills, a great sense of comedic timing and an undeniable likability. Though she may never recapture the Ross and Rachel za-za-zoo from 'Friends,' we're excited to see what kind of comedy sparks a match up with Sandler would create.

We'll see a lot of Aniston next year as she's set to appear in the action-comedy 'The Bounty' with Gerard Butler, 'The Goree Girls,' a musical drama and another rom-com 'Baster' opposite Jason Bateman. Audience members are eagerly awaiting the release of 'Grown Ups,' an ensemble comedy starring Sandler.

"The strength of 'Everybody's Fine' is watching De Niro slowly transform Frank into a father willing to listen and accept his children for who they are and not who he wanted them to be," says Glenn Whipp of the Associated Press.

We've seen De Niro tackle comedy in 'Meet the Parents' and he even played The Creature in 'Frankenstein.' There's no doubt that he has the range to play any type of character a script calls for. But as great actors age, is it their fate to take on softer, more emotional roles? Do we really want to see the man who stood in the mirror and asked "You talkin' to me?" in a tearful familial embrace?

We've seen Jack Nicholson play these types of roles in 'About Schmidt' and 'As Good As It Gets' to much success. Perhaps it's true that as men get older, they lose some of their bite. De Niro's tough guy days may be over, but that could open the door for him to play even more interesting, introspective roles -- men who may not necessarily be supremely dominant but who are, if anything, supremely human.
The only thing we know for sure is that the sequel will reunite the trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis. That got us thinking about some possible plots for the movie:

The "Fat/Sexy Bastard" Scenario: The wives/girlfriends of Phil, Stu and Alan make a frantic, early-morning phonecall to the guys - they had a wild girls' night out and somehow got sold into a sex slavery ring (run by 'Harold and Kumar''s John Cho). The guys must relive the girls' night out -- including trips to a nail salon, Chippendales and a Pampered Chef party -- in order to rescue the women before they are forced to perform unspeakable acts on a crazed businessman played by Mike Myers in a fat suit.

The "Choose Your Own Pleasure" Scenario: The guys are at a bar on the eve of Phil's 40th birthday. A strange man drinking at the bar (played by Christopher Walken) gives Phil a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book that will guarantee them the best night ever. The guys must make a series of choices such as: if you get a private dance from the stripper, turn to page 43. If you punch the bouncer and leave the club with shot girl, turn to page 184. They are allowed to flip back through the book until they are satisfied with the ending.

The "Back to School" Scenario: Stu finds out that he never actually earned his college diploma and must repeat his final semester of college or lose his license to practice dentistry. The three friends enroll at a university (where the Dean of Studies is played by Snoop Dogg). They wake up hungover on the morning before graduation and realize that they have been drunk for the entire semester and must help Stu pass all of his final exams in one day.
The whole community is affected by this tragic turn of events during "Waska" -- the first snowfall of the season, which can be both magical and treacherous.

Doing an indie film is a smart move for both Piven and Walsh, who are best known for their TV roles (Walsh is the star of ABC's ''Private Practice'). The choice to do a lower-budget, dramatic film often gives stars much-desired acting credibility. Piven probably hopes that a turn as an ambitious prosecutor will eclipse the bad publicity he received after dropping out of the Broadway production of 'Speed the Plow' last year.

Walsh has found success on television, and fans should embrace her leap to the big screen. She is also set to star in the upcoming fantasy thriller 'Legion' and the comedy 'Hot Tub Time Machine.'
Waska also stars Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern and Joseph Morgan.

The release Disney's 'The Princess and the Frog' has sparked a hailstorm of chatter in both the mainstream media and the blogosphere over the fact that the movie features the first black princess.

But the critics and commentators may be ignoring a bigger story: Are Disney Princesses still as popular as they've been in the past, or has the storied tradition began to fade -- and will sales of backpacks, princess costumes and movie tickets drop in favor of an entirely new fad?

The release Disney's 'The Princess and the Frog' has sparked a hailstorm of chatter in both the mainstream media and the blogosphere over the fact that the movie features the first black princess.

But the critics and commentators may be ignoring a bigger story: Are Disney Princesses still as popular as they've been in the past, or has the storied tradition began to fade -- and will sales of backpacks, princess costumes and movie tickets drop in favor of an entirely new fad ... like, say, 'Hannah Montana'?

In an informal poll that I took, the results were mixed. Julia, age 6, from Long Island is over princesses, but Naomi, also 6, from Florida, still loves princesses and looks forward to wearing her princess costume when she goes to Disney World. Oona, age 3, from Massachusetts, doesn't watch the Disney movies and owns no princesses paraphernalia. Despite her parents' efforts to shield her from the mass marketing, she sometimes tells her mother, "I am a Princess!"

Meanwhile, the past few years have seen Miley Cyrus' alter-ego Hannah Montana become the dominant Disney property marketed to young girls, with a wildly popular TV show and concert tour and a pair of movies, 'Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert' and 'Hannah Montana: The Movie' raking in $65.3 million and $79.6 million, respectively.

But don't count out princesses just yet. Disney's last princess-centric movie, the 2007 live-action animation hybrid 'Enchanted' -- which starred Amy Adams as a princess who falls in love with a (Mc)dreamy modern-day single dad played by Patrick Dempsey -- racked up $127.8 million at the domestic box office ... almost as much as the two 'Hannah Montana' movies combined. You see, inside the mind of the American female toddler, whose main thoughts revolve around sippy cups and Tupperwares filled with Cheerios, Disney Princesses equal the ultimate in excitement.

When I was a toddler in the 1970s, my exposure to princesses (Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty) was limited mostly to storybooks -- but even then I picked up on the fact that princesses are "pretty" and I wanted to be just like them. When I finally met one in person on my first trip to Disney World, I was star-struck. (This may explain the fact that, to this day, when I wake up in the morning, bluebirds fly in through my window, grabbing the corners of my sheets to help me make the bed. I also get great advice from a trio of t-shirt-wearing mice who have somehow avoided the glue traps my husband put around our living room.)

There is every reason to believe that 'The Princess and the Frog' will open to huge box office numbers. Unlike Cabbage Patch Kids or the new battery operated hamsters, there is something classic and enduring about the princess character that captures the imagination of little girls.

For many girls, a Disney Princess is their first exposure to images of beauty and femininity and like it or not, it's only natural that they should want to emulate it. In fact, even before all of the merchandising, little girls were showing up to Disney on Ice dressed up as princesses, which gave Disney the idea for the Disney Princess line, which now features over 25,000 products.

And why not? Disney Princesses generally don't have moms, so there's no nagging about bedtimes or cleaning up your room. They get to live Happily Ever After. And they all have hot, charming boyfriends who wear puffy shirts and leggings. It's certain that Tiana will be just as popular as Belle, Ariel, Jasmine and the other princesses and that little girls will find her ... enchanting. Which, in turn, should translate into one 'Enchanted' box-office ride for 'The Princess and the Frog.'

10. John C. Reilly
One possible explanation for why Will Ferrell so often appears alongside Reilly -- at the very least, it will up his hot quotient. We'll opt to 'Walk Hard' in the opposite direction.

9. Joaquin Phoenix
Joaquin might have once been an OK-looking guy, but these days you'd never know it. The only thing that beard inspires a woman to do is a lice check. This is a look that only works if you're Hassidic or Amish.

8. Mickey Rourke
So hot in '9 1/2 Weeks', Rourke now looks like a wannabe aging rock star. We'd need some serious cootie spray if this 'Wrestler' tried to put us in a Nelson hold.

7. Michael Moore
This outspoken director is married so we can only assume his wife must think he's all that and a bag of chips (and a side of fries, and a cream cheese bagel, and several rotisserie chicken ...). Just be thankful his provocative docs don't contain nude scenes.

6. Randy Quaid
Imagine getting 'Kingpinned' by this character actor, especially with that pageboy hair-do he rocked in the Farrelly Brothers film? We can't either. He may have hearded sheep on 'Brokeback Mountain' but there's no way Quaid was getting invited in that tent!

5. Philip Seymour Hoffman
A brilliant actor? Yes. A heartthrob? Not quite. His sex scene with Marisa Tomei in 'Before the Devil Knows You're Dead' is sure to inspire you and your date to take a vow of celibacy.

4. Paul Giamatti
It would take a few barrels of wine for us to get 'Sideways' with this actor. The powdered wig he donned for John Adams was actually an improvement, though when it comes to getting frisky with a Founding Father, he's still no Benjamin Franklin.

3. Justin Long
Drew, sweetie, what are you thinking? Justin Long is a 31-year-old man that looks like a 13 year-old boy. Hey, at least the PC guy has gone through puberty.

2. Kevin Spacey
Is he gay? Is he straight? Kevin won't tell, but one thing's for certain -- this guy's sex appeal is a mystery, too. C'mon, Keyser Soze, give us something to work with!

1. Gary Busey
He's fascinating, he's outrageous and he has gigantic teeth. What woman could resist the mystery wrapped within an enigma that is Busey? To coin one of his Busey-isms, let's just say that we are NOT HOT (Not One That He Overly Titillates) for Gary.
