As much as most of us would love to see this country back on top and prospering again, the majority of us simply cannot bring ourselves to make the effort. And, the reason for that is simple. Our Achilles heel is the modern-day Republican Party.

As Americans, we seem most highly evolved at thinking of ways to screw each other over. That includes denying the chronically ill volunteers who went down to Ground Zero the day after 9/11 not only compensation for illness, but refusing to acknowledge some were even there.
How they changed this feature and removed the standard push-button tone, is beyond me. Who the heck wants to hear a water droplet every time you push a button? It's a phone, for Christ's sake. Not a leaky faucet!
Will we ever see a time when, come November, there are three, or, God help us, even four candidates neck and neck in the electoral vote?
We're simply addicted. Apple has become the "Nino Brown" of the tech world. It's New Jack City -- this time, nationwide -- and we're all lining up at 'The Carter' for a piece of the rock. Or, in this case, the Apple.
