Last week, "NCIS" star Pauley Perrette recounted the harrowing story of an alleged attack she said she suffered at the hands of a "psychotic homeless man." Now, that alleged assailant is facing some serious felony charges -- and jail time -- in connection with that incident.

TMZ reports that local authorities have arrested 45-year-old David Merck, and charged him with one count of making a criminal threat, and one count of false imprisonment by violence. Both charges are felonies.

Merck allegedly assaulted Perrette late Thursday night near a home she owns in Hollywood, an incident Perrette then recounted in a post on Twitter. The actress said that Merck -- who identified himself as "William" -- punched her repeatedly and told her he would kill her; she was able to flee, and authorities later tracked down Merck based on a sketch that Perrette said she made of her assailant.

"I almost died," wrote a shaken Perrette of the incident.

Merck is currently being held on $60,000 bail. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
