Charlie Sheen is reportedly about to make a major announcement: He's HIV-positive.

News of Sheen's alleged status has been reported by several gossip outlets, following a blind item that first appeared in UK tabloid The Sun. According to that publication, an actor described as "womanizing" and "A-list" has been living with HIV for years, but has kept his diagnosis a secret from everyone -- including dozens of sexual partners who may have been infected.

"His lawyers are believed to be aware of the situation and preparing for a raft of potential legal claims from previous lovers," The Sun's report said. "The actor's list of exes includes an award-winning actress, a religious movie star, a top Hollywood personality with a controversial past, a TV star, a media personality and a glamour model."

Though the tabloid didn't name any names, it didn't take long for several sites to suggest Sheen, and Today" show on Tuesday. TMZ reports that Sheen will sit down with Matt Lauer for what the program has called "a revealing personal announcement."

Sheen's camp has stayed silent about the reports, though Gawker says his "Today" appearance is set to head off an upcoming story from The National Enquirer that was to uncover his diagnosis. We'll see what the actor has to say for himself -- and all the people he's potentially allegedly infected -- tomorrow morning.
