The upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie may be adding an Oscar winner to its ranks: Nicole Kidman is reportedly in talks for a high-profile role in the picture.

According to TheWrap, Kidman is in the midst of negotiations to appear in "Wonder Woman" alongside titular star Gal Gadot. The site writes that she's being eyed to play "a high-ranking Amazonian warrior," a member of the same race as Wonder Woman herself.

It's unclear at this point if the flick will follow the traditional comics storyline, but TheWrap reports that Kidman could be playing Hyppolyta, the Queen of the Amazons and Wonder Woman's biological mother. We'll have to wait for official word from Warner Bros. before we know for certain (and whether or not Kidman is indeed joining the film).

Gadot will make her debut as the superheroine in "Man of Steel" sequel "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," due in theaters in spring 2016. Her standalone flick, which also costars Chris Pine, is then slated for release on June 23, 2017.
