Her character, Juliette Barnes, on ABC drama "Nashville" has been suffering from postpartum depression, and now, actress Hayden Panettiere has revealed that she, too, is battling the condition.

A representative for Panettiere told People that the actress "is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression." The statement added, "She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time."

Panettiere gave birth to 10-month-old daughter Kaya Evodokia, who she shares with fiance Wladimir Klitschko, back in December 2014. In an appearance on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" last month, the new mom opened up about Juliette's struggles on "Nashville," and told the hosts, "I can very much relate."

"It's something a lot of women experience," Panettiere said at the time. "When [you're told] about postpartum depression you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child' — I've never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don't realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It's something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."

The actress added that she wanted to bring awareness to the condition, and help women who are dealing with PPD feel that they are taken seriously.

"It's really painful and it's really scary and women need a lot of support," she said.

Here's wishing Panettiere well in her recovery.
