Summer 2022 is halfway over and coming out of the pandemic there were some huge movies at the box office this year.

Thanks to movies like 'Top Gun: Maverick,' 'Elvis,' and 'Jurassic World Dominion,' audiences were treated a solid slate worthy of keeping their butts in air-conditioned theaters while munching on overpriced (but so damn delicious) concessions.

In honor of our favorite movie season winding down, we ranked the 10 best summer blockbusters of all-time. From 'Independence Day' to Star Wars," we got all your popcorn entertainment needs covered.

'Men in Black' (1997)

After a police chase with an otherworldly being, a New York City cop is recruited as an agent in a top-secret organization established to monitor and police alien activity on Earth: the Men in Black. Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and new recruit Agent Jay (Will Smith) find themselves in the middle of a deadly plot by an intergalactic terrorist who has arrived on Earth to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies.

'Ghostbusters' (1984)

'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' (1982)

After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E.T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie(Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

'Independence Day' (1996)

'Jurassic Park' (1993)
