The The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" has been announced, and includes a bunch of big names, ranging from Hollywood royalty to music superstars -- and some quirkier choices that would have felt at home on "The Colbert Report," too.

The first show, debuting on September 8, features previously-announced guests George Clooney and presidential candidate Jeb Bush, along with a musical performance from new "Late Show" bandleader Jon Batiste and his band, Stay Human. Some "special guests" are also slated to appear, though the show is keeping their names under wraps for now.

On September 9, Scarlett Johansson will stop by, as will eccentric SpaceX and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk. Kendrick Lamar will serve as the musical guest.

September 10 will feature a sit-down with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. Country star Toby Keith will perform.

And on September 11, Colbert will chat with the red-hot Amy Schumer, along with horror legend Stephen King. (King is most likely appearing to promote the upcoming Hulu miniseries of his novel, "11/22/63," though we can't help but hope that he and Colbert will just nerd out together instead.) Troubled Waters is slated to serve as the night's musical guest.

It looks like a pretty great lineup to us, and despite Colbert's pledge that he's ditched his conservative alter ego, we're hoping for some "Report"-esque antics with Bush, Musk, and Kalanick. "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" kicks off on September 8 on CBS.
