There were plenty of high-profile guest stars sprinkled throughout the first season of charming CW series "Jane the Virgin," including Jane Seymour, Rita Moreno, Cheech Marin, and Paulina Rubio, to name a few. But the bar has officially been raised for the upcoming second season: Britney Spears is set for a cameo on the show.

The pop star revealed the news herself on Twitter, writing that she would be stopping by the Marbella hotel, where the titular character works. Spears also professed her love for the critical darling, writing that "Jane" is "one of my favorite shows EVER."

Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman followed up Spears's announcement with a statement explaining how the singer will fit into the show, and it sounds pretty fantastic.

"We are so thrilled that Rogelio's [Jaime Camil] 'nemesis' — Britney Spears — has agreed to appear on 'Jane The Virgin' in episode 205," Urman said. "Personally, after hearing about their long standing fued (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney."

Urman also added on Twitter that Spears's casting was a "Dream come true" for the series. We concur.

We can't wait to see how a Rogelio-Britney "feud" plays out (and it makes total sense that Rogelio is the bigger diva of the two). Season two of "Jane the Virgin" is set to premiere on The CW on October 12.
