Sweet! As some wise Legos once sang, "Everything is awesome," so that has to include a Pez movie. Right?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Envision Media Arts is developing an animated movie based on the Pez candy dispensers. Cameron Fay, who wrote the comedy "Brother in Laws," is writing the script. EMA CEO and founder Lee Nelson said, in a statement via TheWrap, "Pez candy is beloved by children and adults alike. With Cameron Fay we've created a world unique to Pez and a story that will touch the hearts of many."

No word yet on the movie's plot, but if you've ever seen those rows of Pez candies you can imagine they have a ton of characters to work with. I mean, Star Wars Pez could take on the Smurfs or form an alliance with the X-Men Pez to conquer the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Bugs Bunny could fall in love with Miss Piggy or one of the Disney princesses.

Hopefully whatever happens will be as fun as "The Lego Movie" and not just a gimmick they try to stretch for 90 minutes to 2 hours. One commenter has already compared the idea to "Toy Story with candy," which is actually a very complimentary tagline.

What do you think of this idea?
