Fox's upcoming revival of classic sci-fi series "The X-Files" continues to expand its cast, with actors Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose set to join the limited series.

TVLine reports that Amell and Ambrose will play two FBI agents, and are set to appear in one of the six new episodes. Amell will play Agent Miller, described by TVLine as "smart and smooth," while Ambrose is playing Agent Einstein, who's "sharp and confident."

Though no further details about the characters were available, it seems like a safe bet that those younger agents will no doubt butt heads with seasoned veterans Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson). It could even be argued that they're meant to serve as a direct doppelgangers to the two returning leads, since Ambrose's amber locks are a dead ringer for Scully's signature coloring from the first iteration of the series. Of course, that's purely speculation, and we won't know anything for sure until their episode airs.

Original stars Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis are also joining Duchovny and Anderson for the revival, which is being written by "X-Files" creator Chris Carter. The new, six-episode series is set for an expanded, two-night premiere early next year on Fox, beginning on Sunday, January 24 and continuing into its regular timeslot on Monday, January 25.
