The nominees for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced Tuesday, and the slate features lots of familiar faces as well as new sensations.

Superstar Taylor Swift led the pack with a whopping nine nominations, thanks to her "1989" singles "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood." English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran scored the second-most nods, with six.

Miley Cyrus is hosting this year's festivities, which means VMA fans are in for a wild night. (As if there was any other choice for the reliably-crazy annual awards show.)

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards are scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m. Check out the full list of nominees -- including the mainstream awards as well as technical categories -- below.
