Jon Stewart, like Beyoncé, is irreplaceable. But he's hosting his last episode of "The Daily Show" on August 6, and Comedy Central wanted someone to replace him. Turns out, it could've been several other people besides the guy they went with -- Trevor Noah. New York Times Magazine revealed that Comedy Central had approached Amy Poehler and Chris Rock, as well as their own "Inside Amy Schumer" host. Amy Schumer confirmed the news to The Daily Beast and explained why she turned down such a great opportunity.

I was so honored to be asked and considered. With Comedy Central, I project so much 'You're my parents!' on the network and the people that run it, so them saying, 'We believe in you and trust that you can do this,' I thought, 'Oh my god, thank you!' And then I thought, 'Well, I could give everyone I love a job and we could all be together for five years.' But picturing being in a building and knowing what I was going to do for five years—I love not knowing. And I've never done anything safe or to make money for that reason. So, you know, I said, 'I can't start now.'"

So she turned down safety and a regular paycheck for the surprise of what might be ahead in the next five years. It would've been refreshing to see a woman join the male dominated late-night hosting world, but more than anything it would've just been fun to see what Amy Schumer would do with the role. (Amy Poehler, too, though. And Chris Rock.)
