Shia LaBeouf was hospitalized today after suffering a head injury in an accident on the North Dakota set of the movie "American Honey."

LaBeouf sustained the injury while filming a scene in which his character puts his head through a glass window. Something went terribly wrong, however, and the actor was cut on the head and hand. He was taken to the hospital, where TMZ reported he received 20 stitches and 13 staples. Afterward, LaBeouf was taken home to recover.

His rep released a statement: "Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, 'American Honey.' As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set tomorrow."

"American Honey" is a road movie from British filmmaker Andrea Arnold, about a teen girl who joins a traveling magazine sales crew and gets caught up in hard partying and law-breaking.
