Former "Baywatch" actor Jeremy Jackson was arrested last weekend for allegedly stabbing a man in the torso, then fleeing the scene.

Los Angeles police told the L.A. Times that Jackson (who also goes by the last name Dunn) was taken in for assault with a deadly weapon and released on bail Sunday.

The 34-year-old former child star, who played Hobie on the popular lifeguard series, recently appeared on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" to address his drug and alcohol abuse.

The incident started Friday, when police received a call that a man had been stabbed in the upper left torso. The unidentified victim identified his assailant as "Hobie" (Jackson's "Baywatch" character) and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Later, the police received a report of a possible break-in, and found that the prowler was Jackson.

TMZ reports that Jackson is claiming self-defense against someone who tried to rob him.
