The CW's developing "The Flash" and "Arrow" spinoff has added a new leading lady.

Deadline reports that Ciara Renee will play Hawkgirl -- whose real name is Kendra Saunders -- in the still-untitled series, which will bring together the casts of the above superhero series as well as some new characters. Per the trade:

In the new series, Saunders is a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.

... Renée joins Brandon Routh (Arrow's Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash's Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (The Flash's Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein) and Caity Lotz whose role is still TBD.

Renee, a relative newcomer, is currently best-known for her work on Broadway, where she's appeared in shows including "Pippin" and "Big Fish." She also made a guest turn on "Law & Order: SVU" last fall.

According to Deadline, the spinoff is still looking to cast three lead roles -- two males and a female -- of DC superheroes that have never been portrayed on television before (Hawkgirl made a previous appearance on The WB's "Smallville"). Stay tuned to see who else will join Renee in the series.
