Superhero Report tweeted a possibly telling picture from the set of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which showed actor Scoot McNairy wearing bright green socks:
As noted by various sites, that color is similar to that used on "green screens," which indicates some special effects will be applied to McNairy's legs. Now, what could those special effects be?

Cosmic Book News speculates that McNairy might be playing Barry Allen aka The Flash, instead of Nightwing as previously rumored. The Daily Superhero recently cited an inside source saying The Flash would be making a cameo in the film, possibly as an Easter egg for a future Justice League movie.
McNairy's role in "Batman v Superman" is still a mystery, so it's entirely possible he could be playing The Flash. It's also entirely possible he's playing a crippled Nightwing. It could also be possible that director Zack Snyder is pulling one over on us.
We'll find out when "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens in March 25th, 2016.
