Deadline writes that Ridley was just the subject of a major bidding war between creative talent agencies, and that's because she's not just another pretty face in the "Episode VII" ensemble -- she's rumored to be the female lead, and her role is reportedly set to stretch through episodes "VIII" and "IX" of the series's new trilogy. HitFix adds that Ridley is rumored to be playing the daughter of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).
There's been no confirmation about Ridley's character from Disney, though the agency bidding war suggests that the rumor that she'll stick around the franchise for several films is solid. "Episode VIII" is set to be written and directed by "Looper" helmer Rian Johnson, and he may also direct "Episode IX," too.
Ridley has appeared on several British television shows, including "Youngers," "Mr Selfridge," and "Casualty." While she shot several scenes for the comedy "Inbetweeners 2," her role was ultimately cut.
Judging by the next few items set for her resume, Ridley has bounded back just fine.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
