Moviefone's Top DVD of the Week
"Under the Skin"
What's It About? That's a very good question. Scarlett Johansson plays a mysterious woman who drives around the Scottish countryside looking for male hitchhikers. To reveal more would be a disservice to the movie... and difficult, since this atmospheric science-fiction film is open to interpretation.
Why We're IN: Director Jonathan Glazer's very, very loose adaptation of the Michel Faber novel is disturbing and sexy. Plus, they used hidden cameras to film Johansson luring clueless hitchhikers into her big white van.

Moviefone's Top Blu-ray of the Week
"Scanners" (Criterion)
What's It About? "Scanners" are humans with special telepathic gifts, and the giant corporation ConSec wants to use them for their own nefarious purposes. It becomes a gruesome war of the scanners when one gang decides to go rogue.
Why We're IN: David Cronenberg's most famous head-popping horror movie finally gets the Criterion treatment. That includes a restored digital transfer, a doc about the film's gooey special effects, and a new digital transfer of Cronenberg's first movie, "Stereo."

New on DVD & Blu-ray
"Black Dynamite: Season One"
What's It About? Adult Swim's popular animated TV series is based on the 2009 Blaxploitation spoof about a former CIA agent named Black Dynamite. Michael Jai White is the lead voice actor, alongside Tommy Davidson and Kym Whitley. Eddie Griffin, Arsenio Hall, Snoop Dogg, and Charlie Murphy also do some voice work for the series.
IN or OUT: Sure, why not?

"Hell on Wheels: The Complete Third Season"
What's It About? AMC's post-Civil War TV series follows the dramas and misadventures of a group of people who traveled alongside and worked on the Union Pacific Railroad as it was being built. The main storyline is about a former Confederate soldier hell-bent on avenging the murder of his wife. Colm Meaney, Common, Dominique McElligott, and MacKenzie Porter co-star.
IN or OUT: It doesn't quite fill the gaping void left by "Deadwood," but if you're dying for a Western fix, go for it.

"A Night in Old Mexico"
What's It About? Robert Duvall stars as an old cowboy who's being evicted from his ranch. He heads to Mexico for one last big night on the town, alongside his grandson Gally (Jeremy Irvine).
IN or OUT: If you need a dose of Duvall as a cranky eccentric in the South, why not check out "Get Low" instead?

"Open Grave"
What's It About? A guy (Sharlto Copley) wakes up in an open grave full of bodies and has to figure out how the heck he got there. Once he gets out, he meets five other people who are similarly confused about who they are and what happened to them. Hint: Nothing good.
IN or OUT: Nope.

"Rio 2"
What's It About? Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg reprise their roles as Jewel and Blu, the exotic blue macaws from the first movie. To their surprise, there are more blue macaws out there in the world other than their little family, and they need Jewel and Blu's help.

WATCH: Tap your foot to the Brazilian rhythms of "Rio 2" (VIDEO)

New to Blu-ray
Marty (1955)
What's It About? Marty (Ernest Borgnine) is not exactly a lady-killer, so when he meets a schoolteacher named Clara (Betsy Blair), he couldn't be happier. His family and friends pick Clara apart until Marty begins to have second thoughts, but will he find the courage to follow his heart?
IN or OUT: There isn't much to speak of in the way of Blu-ray extras, but if you love classic romantic comedies, this one's for you.

Pickpocket (Criterion)
What's It About? Robert Bresson's film about a compulsive pickpocket named Michel (Martin LaSalle) is a modern classic about redemption and love.
IN or OUT: Most definitely in.
