"Game of Thrones" has already inspired the creation of a line of beers, and now Australian winemaker Common Ventures is getting in on the fun with its own line of "GoT" libations.
The Wines of Westeros collection features 12 varieties representing different characters/houses in the "GoT" canon: Arryn, Greyjoy, Stark, Baratheon, Dothraki, Lannister, Tyrell, White Walker, Wildling, Martell, Night's Watch, and Targaryen.
"The reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust," said a spokesperson for Common Ventures. "The whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive, and mysterious."
The company's website notes the importance of alcohol to the series (and, subsequently, its fans) with a cheeky description of its new line:
A mind needs wine as a sword needs a whetstone. Whether it's a bottle from beyond the wall or a case from the cellars of the Iron Bank, keep your mind fit for the death of summer with the lion's share of vino. Have a wench fetch a goblet, reject all wedding invitations and settle down for a long, harsh winter.
Now that's a toast we can certainly raise our glasses to.
The Wines of Westeros collection will retail for about $20 per bottle, and be on shelves in time for the premiere of "Game of Thrones"'s fifth season next spring.
