star wars episode vii han solo
Han Solo has every right to feel cocky -- he's reportedly a major part of "Star Wars: Episode VII."

If details about the hotly-anticipated sequel are gold, then Entertainment Weekly broke into Fort Knox. In a huge story in this week's edition of the magazine, sources spill all sorts of secrets about the J.J. Abrams-directed project.

Via Jedi News, those tidbits include:

- Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher all signed on for "Episode VII" before Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012.

- All three have "significant" roles.

- Abrams and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan made significant changes to Michael Arndt's initial script, which delayed casting.

- Several roles still have to be filled, including a major female lead.

- Han Solo is considered a co-lead with three of the younger actors.

Who are those three? John Boyega is probably one, and Daisy Ridley (the only female member of the recently announced cast so far) likely another. As for what Han's up to in the movie, perhaps he's training young Jedi pilots.

From defying authority figures to being one himself? The young Han Solo would never believe it. "Star Wars: Episode VII" blasts into theaters December 18, 2015.
