Superheroes are so yesterday; it's all about the villains now.
In their new issue, Entertainment Weekly reveals that the team behind "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is reuniting to make two more movies in 2016 and 2018, along with two spin-offs featuring villains Venom and the Sinister Six. The end of "Amazing Spider-Man 2" sets up the group of supervillains.
"At the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in the Sinister Six," says Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal. "We're going forward on all fronts."
The group had several incarnations in the comics. Star Andrew Garfield tells EW that "he personally digs Venom, Doc Ock, Vulture, and Kraven." It's possible that Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin and Jamie Foxx's Electro could be in the mix, as well as Rhys Ifans's Lizard from the first movie.
"Villains can be very entertaining," says producer Avi Arad. "It's not like somebody's born and they're a villain. Something happens and it changes their lives."
It's good to be bad!
