The final trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is here, and it looks like Marc Webb's making good on his promise to "unleash my inner [Michael] Bay" this time around.
There's some smooching between Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and a funny reunion with his old pal Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), but then things get dark. Not, like, when Peter started slicking his hair back and being "cool" Peter Parker in "Spider-Man 3," but legitimately creepy.
There's plenty of stuff with Jamie Foxx's eerie Electro and Paul Giamatti's impressive Rhino, but we also get a good feeling for how DeHaan will be making his blockbuster debut. The actor's breakthrough role was in the sci-fi actioner "Chronicle," but the majority of roles have been on smaller dramas like "Kill Your Darlings" and "Lawless." Although we don't see much of his transformation into the Green Goblin, it's clear DeHaan can handle some blockbuster-y bluster.
There are also some hints about what Peter's dad was really up to that got him into so much trouble, and the truth about Oscorp. What sort of plans does Oscorp have for our boy hero, anyway?
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters May 2.
