This weekend, Aaron Paul is fresh out of prison and looking for revenge in "Need for Speed," Kristen Bell returns to "Veronica Mars" in the film adaptation of the cult hit television show, and Jason Bateman directs himself in the profanity-laced comedy "Bad Words."
"Need for Speed" stars Aaron Paul as Tobey Marshall, a street racer out for revenge. Recently released from prison, Marshall joins a cross country race to get close to the target of his vengeance, ex-partner, Dino Brewster, but his Brewster has already learned of his plan and places a massive bounty on his head. Directed by Scott Waugh ("Act of Valor"), the film stars Dominic Cooper and Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) in supporting roles.
Financed by an ambitious Kickstarter campaign, "Veronica Mars" returns after a several year hiatus, and this time on the big screen! Kristen Bell stars as the young private eye, who returns to her hometown to investigate a murder mystery surrounding her old flame, Logan Echolls. Directed and co-written by Rob Thomas, "Veronica Mars" is set around Veronica's 10-year high school reunion and features nearly all the old cast.
"Bad Words" stars Jason Bateman as Guy, a former spelling-bee loser who finds a loophole and attempts to win the National Spelling Bee as an adult. When he's not upsetting ambitious 8th graders, parents, and contest officials, Guy befriends an awkward 10 year-old competitor, Chaitanya, and helps him come out of his shell. Bateman also directs "Bad Words," which costars Kathryn Hahn, Allison Janney, and Philip Baker Hall.
"Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club" follows a group of single mothers from different walks of life, who bond and create a support group to help one another overcome obstacles and find comedy along the way. Written and directed by Tyler Perry, the film stars Nia Long, Amy Smart, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cocoa Brown, and many more.
