Just as Shailene Woodley is about to star in "Divergent," the actress has some unkind words for another movie adaptation of a hugely popular book series.
"'Twilight,' I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship," Woodley says in the new issue of Teen Vogue (via E! Online). She's talking about the central romance between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).
"She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve."
Guess she didn't ask for advice from Stewart like she did with Jennifer Lawrence, then.
"Divergent" features a romance, too, between Woodley's Beatrice "Tris" Prior and her teacher, Tobias "Four" Eaton. But Woodley herself hasn't "had time to think about a relationship!"
"I literally have not had a boyfriend in almost five years," she admits. "I've never even hooked up with anybody I've worked on a movie with."
At least, not while they were working together. After the movie wrapped is another story, as Woodley coyly added, "Well, that might have happened on something."
