Finally, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer has landed. And August 1 can't come fast enough.
After getting a glimpse of the first footage at Comic-Con last year, we've been dying to see more of Star-Lord (aka Peter Quill, aka Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) in action. While that footage was somewhat revealing, introducing the main players and delivering a taste of the comedy and darkness that will set this movie apart from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there were a number of characters we didn't get to see, and in that regard, this trailer delivers the goods.
We were also (very) happy to see just how polished it looks. Marvel qualified the Comic-Con footage by saying that it was unfinished (they were actually still filming and flew the cast in for the day), so what we witnessed was a bit rough -- impressive and hilarious, but rough. So, we're overjoyed to see just how gritty and out-of-this world the trailer looks. When it comes to creating an intergalactic hero-space, Marvel did not disappoint.
The only thing that really bothers us about this trailer is the fact that we have to wait until August to see the movie. Sigh.
Watch the trailer below, then sit and wait for Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" to open at a theater near you on August 1.
