She may be a pig, but Miss Piggy will look like a princess in "Muppets Most Wanted," thanks to a custom wedding gown designed exclusively for the piglet/starlet by Vivienne Westwood (scroll down for full photo).
Disney announced Tuesday that everyone's favorite felt pig would get the diva treatment for her wedding day, which may or may not be taking place in the Muppets' next on-screen adventure. (It seems for the time being that the Muppets are ignoring Piggy and Kermit's previous marriage, which took place in 1984's "Muppets Take Manhattan.")
The Disney Style Blog described the dress as a "Vivienne Westwood couture Long Ivory Court wedding gown [with] corset detailing and paillettes made from recycled plastic bottles, accessorized with an ivory tulle veil."
Miss Piggy interviewed Westwood about the gown for Harper's Bazaar, and the designer revealed even more details about the stunning, one-of-a-kind frock.
"The dress is one of my favorite styles. It's called the Court dress and is inspired by 17th-century English royalty and the court of King Charles II," Westwood said. "It has been designed especially for you in a white pearl sequin fabric made from recycled water bottles. It's the perfect choice for a royal sow."
Ever the modest movie star, Miss Piggy said in a statement, "Vivienne Westwood is fabulous-just like moi. When I asked her to design this wedding dress for moi's new movie 'Muppets Most Wanted,' she was thrilled and I was thrilled. The only one a bit 'iffy' about it was the Frog."
As for Kermit, will he go through with the nuptials?
"You'll have to see the movie to find out," Piggy said.
"Muppets Most Wanted" opens March 21.
