Have you heard about this little movie, "Star Wars: Episode VII"? Apparently, everyone and their brother has auditioned for it. Now, Gary Oldman has revealed that he, too, has thrown his hat into the ring -- and Lucasfilm is very interested in the actor.
"They've called," Oldman told the U.K.'s Sky News when asked whether he was involved with "Episode VII." But the actor cautioned that there were no official offers from or negotiations with J.J. Abrams and co. just yet.
"I'm more cynical about it now," Oldman said. "I'll believe it when I'm on the plane home. A deal isn't done. But, yeah, they've inquired."
Sky News reports that Oldman was previously up for the part of General Grievous in "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith," but ultimately fell short. Oldman told Sky News it would be pretty cool to be part of the storied series, especially since he's been so fortunate to play a part in many other big-name franchises.
"I mean, 'Planet of the Apes,' and 'Harry Potter,' and 'Batman,' and 'Star Wars'? Bloody hell," Oldman said.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" opens December 18, 2015.
