Imagine "I Love You, Man" with a mercenary twist, maybe, and you've got "The Wedding Ringer."

The comedy, which is scheduled for release on January 16, 2015, will star Kevin Hart as a guy who sells his services as a best man for awkward grooms-to-be. His latest client is a fella played by Josh Gad, of "Frozen" fame, who goes one step beyond by finding no less than nine fake groomsmen. (Seriously, who has nine groomsmen and a best man? Cut that out.)

Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender, the guys behind the 2006 comedy "The Break-Up" with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, wrote "The Wedding Ringer." This will be Garelick's feature-length directorial debut.

Hart is bringing in the mega-bucks lately, what with the record-breaking success of "Ride Along," his immensely popular stand-up performances, and roles in movies like "Think Like a Man" and its upcoming sequel "Think Like a Man Too," which will hit theaters in June. Hart also co-created and appears in BET's hilarious reality TV parody, "Real Husbands of Hollywood." His next film is "About Last Night," an update of the 1986 Brat Pack classic with Rob Lowe and Demi Moore. "About Last Night," which also stars Michael Ealy, Regina Hall, and Joy Bryant, opens Valentine's Day.
