In an interview this week with Red Carpet News, Evans discussed the reboot and how filmmakers are handling the intense pressure from fans of the original film. The first step is distancing itself from the 1994 flick.
"We just want to be as authentic and loyal to the original comic as possible, and that means the story will be different," Evans told the site, adding that the new movie would defy expectations while remaining respectful of its origins. " ... It's not about us ripping off the Brandon Lee movie. That stands alone as a brilliant piece of cult film and a great performance. But we're going back to the book, the original book. And that's exciting because we're bringing to the screen a lot of parts of the story that were never really told."
Sounds like this new "Crow" should have something for fans and neophytes alike. The film is set to start production this year; no release date has been set yet.
