"Gravity" also scooped up three other awards from the L.A. critics, including Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing. Meanwhile, "Her" also claimed the Best Production Design trophy; it was runner-up in the Best Director and Best Screenplay races for writer-director Spike Jonze.
For the second year in a row, the Best Actress race also ended in a tie. Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jasmine") and Adele Exarchopoulos ("Blue is the Warmest Color") shared that statuette. The other tie was for Best Supporting Actor, which went to both Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club") and James Franco ("Spring Breakers").
Rounding out the acting categories were Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave") and Best Actor winner Bruce Dern ("Nebraska").
