Amanda Seyfried is funnier than people give her credit for. Yes, she is mind-bogglingly gorgeous and almost supernaturally sexy, but she can also make you chuckle pretty hard. Think about her early performance in "Mean Girls," or, more recently, the way she rattled off Diablo Cody's pitter-patter dialogue in the sorely underrated horror comedy "Jennifer's Body." Thankfully, she'll get to prove once again that she's not just a pretty face (those eyes!) in Universal's forthcoming romantic comedy "He's F-ing Perfect."
The movie is based on a script that made 2011's Black List of the best unproduced screenplays, and its official logline states that the story follows "a social media-savvy girl who is pessimistic about love, finds the perfect guy, and decides to use her Internet research skills to turn herself into his perfect match." Timely!
"He's F-ing Perfect" (wonder how long that title will last before it's switched out for something infinitely more generic and forgettable) will be directed by Jake Szymanski and produced by heavy hitters/geniuses Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, whose "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" opens later this month.
Seyfried, who starred in "The Big Wedding" and "Lovelace" earlier this year, will next be seen in Seth MacFarlane's skewered western, "A Million Ways to Die in the West," out this May.
With Ferrell and McKay giving "He's F-ing Perfect" their seal of approval, and securing a leading lady as charming and sexy and funny as Seyfried, it's easy to think that the movie could be a future comedy gem.
