Comedy: 'The Birdcage' (1996)
A remake of the 1978 French-Italian film "La Cage aux Folles," Mike Nichols's "The Birdcage" stars Robin Williams and Nathan Lane as a gay couple who run a cabaret club in Miami. However, when Williams's son (Dan Futterman) from a previous marriage wants to introduce them to his fiancee's (Calista Flockhart) very conservative parents, they decide it's better to hide their relationship and what they do for a living. As expected, hilarity ensues, including Lane's flamboyant drag queen learning how to walk like John Wayne (a.k.a. "manly") and their outrageous houseboy (Hank Azaria), who poses as the chef and butler. "The Birdcage" will bring you to laughing tears.

Action: 'Fast & Furious 6' (2013)
In this sixth installment of the "Fast" series, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) get their crew back together to take down a criminal mastermind (Luke Evans). Costarring "Fast" favorites Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, and more, "Fast 6" reminds you that you truly can never get enough insane street racing. And to top the previous movies' action sequences, "Fast 6" features the (probably) most insane car chase in the history of speeding movie vehicles. Don't believe us? Let's just say there's a tank involved, and Vin Diesel flies through the air over a highway. Get ready to pick your jaw up off the floor.

Classic: 'The Conversation' (1973)
Francis Ford Coppola's tense thriller stars Gene Hackman as a paranoid surveillance expert who suspects a couple he has been spying on may be murdered. "The Conversation" examines the conflicts of conscience and moral responsibility, the increasing role of technology in society, and the growing lack of privacy. This taut thriller features one of Hackman's best performances and is one of Coppola's many masterpieces.

Foreign: 'Oldboy' (2003)
Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook's "Oldboy" is undoubtedly one of the most artful thrillers of the last decade -- not to mention that it has the greatest twist maybe ever in a film. Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), an average, everyday father, is kidnapped and imprisoned by an unknown captor for 15 years, living off of dumplings and gassed to sleep each night. But when he is suddenly freed and given a cell phone, he's sent on a hunt to discover who his captor is. With mind-blowing action sequences, stomach-wrenching violence, and striking performances, "Oldboy" is a definite must-see. And, there's no better time to watch it before Spike Lee's remake hits theaters next weekend -- but seriously, watch the original first.
