There's no backing out now, kids! The "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie promotion machine is already in full swing, and the movie hasn't even started filming yet. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are all up in this week's Entertainment Weekly issue, from the cover to exclusive interviews and sexy portraits of the actors that involve a lot of finger biting. Plus, there's now an official release date. It's scheduled for Valentine's Day 2015, so make sure those roses you buy for your honey(s) have plenty of thorns.
Dornan sounds pretty pumped up to play Christian Grey, but even so, it's a clever move to put him and Johnson on the cover just in case anyone gets cold feet, as per would-have-been star Charlie Hunnam. However, fans who complained that Hunnam wasn't the right fit for the job will probably be pleased with this former model and his mojo. After his audition, "I was sort of pretending I wasn't waiting, but the phone was in my hand, halfway to my ear," Dornan told EW.
Dornan later added, "I'm a fairly worldly guy... I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked by [the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me." Wait, your childhood home didn't have a Red Room of Pain? Gosh!
Johnson is gearing up to strip down for her role as Anastasia Steele by... exercising. "Obviously, I want to look good naked... I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f-ing feels awesome." Gosh again.
