On screen, Alec Baldwin comes across as a suave, cool cat, but the actor showed his vulnerable side when testifying against an alleged stalker in New York on Tuesday morning.
Baldwin asserted that he never had a sexual or romantic relationship with Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin, who is accused of stalking him. They first met in 2002 when both worked on "The Adventures of Pluto Nash." Baldwin stated that he had a meal with Sabourin at a friend's request and gave her his contact info to communicate about an acting class.
Then, he said that she began barraging him with as many as 30 voicemails a night and hundreds of emails. In 2012, she was arrested outside of his Manhattan apartment. But Sabourin's lawyer claimed she was just seeking closure on a relationship they had in 2010.
"It was nightmarish," Baldwin said of the association.
Sabourin interrupted with several outbursts during his testimony, including when she shouted "You're lying!"
The Oscar-nominated Baldwin got emotional while testifying about finding Sabourin at his Hamptons home after proposing to his now-wife Hilaria Baldwin. The actor wiped tears from his eyes as he recounted his fear that Sabourin had a gun and how had he told Hilaria to run and call the police.
"We never, never ever had this problem before," a distressed Baldwin said.
