World Premiere of Marvels Iron Man 3 - ArrivalsJordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Disney has been cooking up a live-action "Jungle Book" movie for the past few months, and it looks like they've found their director slash man-cub.

Jon Favreau, the guy who made "Iron Man," is in talks for the Disney adaptation, which will take a new look at the classic Rudyard Kipling stories. Favs told Deadline, "I can't say that much, but there is an interesting take that could be very cool, and the hope is to relaunch a family brand with certain mythic elements... It is my first real family film since 'Elf,' and there are action elements and visual effects that I feel like my experience on the 'Iron Man' films are going to be useful."

Favreau did some pretty cool things with "Iron Man," from rebooting Robert Downey Jr.'s career to arguably launching the superhero movie frenzy. Of course, "Elf" has become the go-to family holiday movie, managing to make even the grumpiest Grinches sing along with Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel. It will be interesting to see how the director takes on this classic property, especially given Disney's previous attempt at making a live-action version back in 1994. However, it does feature a pre-Cersei Lannister Lena Headey, which is always a treat.

Favreau's next movie, "Chef," opens on May 9, 2014, and stars Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Dustin Hoffman, and lots of other cool cats, including Favreau himself.
