Sorry, Robin Thicke. Tim Burton will be needing those stripey pants back if this "Beetlejuice" sequel is going forward.

Rumor has it that the wild-haired director is in talks to direct a sequel to the morbidly funny (and oddly touching) '80s film, which starred Michael Keaton as the ghost with the most. There's even talk that Keaton will reprise his iconic role, which would be, let's face it, awesome.

Keaton's got a slew of projects coming out, but he has professed his love for the role, and for Burton. "From an art perspective, I don't know how you get better than 'Beetlejuice,'" the actor told the Los Angeles Times in 2011. "In terms of originality and a look, it's 100 percent unique. If you consider the process of taking something from someone's mind -- meaning Tim -- and putting it on the screen, I think that movie is incomparable." Although "Beetlejuice" is by no means a sacred cow, plenty of fans feel the same way.

While Burton made good with 2012's "Frankenweenie," it's safe to say that industry folks and fans alike might be a little wary of him after bombs like "Dark Shadows." However, Burton has "Big Eyes" in the can, and it's not quite clear what his new film will be. It could be the adaptation of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," but there are conflicting reports on that front. And Johnny Depp recently showed off a new blond 'do, so we can just let our imaginations run wild on what those two lovable weirdos could be up to.
