Star Sam Worthington revealed to an Australian radio station that filming on "Avatar 2" is set to begin October 2014 and director James Cameron has nearly completed the script.
"They are still writing it," Worthington said, adding, "I think Jim is building the ship to Pandora, to be honest." (There may not be an actual, physical ship; the actor seemed to be joking around.)
But Worthington did let out one other tidbit about the sequels' production: The final three films will be shot at once.
"We are going to start this time next year and we will do two, three and four," he said. "In one shot, we'll do them simultaneously. I'll be grateful if it finishes."
Interest in the continuing story of the highest-grossing movie of all time is naturally very high. But there are very few details out there about plot or characters. Rumors swirled that Cameron wanted to reunite with his "Terminator" star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, but Fox denied them.
"Avatar 2" is expected to hit theaters December 2016.
