Chris Pratt may be playing Star-Lord in James Gunn's upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie, but that didn't stop him from dishing about a different character that features prominently in the film: Rocket Raccoon.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Pratt divulged details about the curious critter -- a genetically engineered weapons enthusiast set to be voiced by Bradley Cooper -- and his back story.
"[Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he's lonely and he's angry and it's like, [there are] all these elements [to the character]," Pratt said. "You sort of forget about that, ... [and] hopefully [that] will come to life. I think it will and that's why they hired a really good actor to do the role."
Pratt said that he "could not be more excited" to have Cooper playing the part, adding that Rocket Raccoon is "probably the best character in the movie, just because it's not what you would expect."
Speaking of the unexpected, Pratt sent shockwaves around the internet this summer when he tweeted a sexy shirtless photo showing off his superhero-approved six-pack. Pratt joked that since the film wrapped, he has "a one pack now," and that while he wants to maintain a balanced, healthy lifestyle, he has no plans to keep up such a grueling fitness schedule.
"I want to be somewhere in between being super fat and being not super fat and so, just kind of fat, I guess," he said.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" hits theaters August 1, 2014.
