Paul Feig's female-centric spy comedy "Susan Cooper" is shaping up to be a big "Bridesmaids" reunion.
TheWrap reports that in addition to Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne is also in talks to join the film.
TheWrap notes that no deal is in place yet, but Byrne has had a lot of box office success lately -- she stars in the "Insidious" franchise -- and rekindling her onscreen chemistry with McCarthy could draw even more moviegoers to "Cooper."
McCarthy is set to star as the titular spy (production is expected to take place while she's on hiatus from her CBS comedy "Mike & Molly"), and the film will be similar in tone to McCarthy and Feig's latest collaboration, "The Heat." Fox is hoping that the project becomes a franchise, akin to a female James Bond.
With this assemblage of talent, it seems "Susan Cooper" is off to a great start. Here's hoping the trio can strike creative and commercial gold once again.
