'Machete Kills' Featurette - Behind the Machete
This Friday, "Sin City" director Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills" blasts into theaters, leaving behind a trail of chopped-up bodies and a whole lot of thrills.

A sequel to 2010's "Machete," itself a spin-off from a fake trailer housed within Rodriguez and Tarantino's "Grindhouse" double-feature, the film stars badass Danny Trejo as the titular renegade, who discovers a vast conspiracy involving a Mexican cartel leader (played by Oscar-nominee Demian Bichir) and an aerospace arms dealer (Mel Gibson, back from lands of infamy). In this exclusive new featurette, you'll get a glimpse at the mayhem behind the scenes of "Machete Kills."

In the brief video, you'll watch as Rodriguez directs sequences like the one where Sofia Vergara fires bullets out of her breasts, and another where Cuba Gooding, Jr. struts like you wouldn't believe. Rodriguez says that it was kind of a no brainer to do another "Machete" flick, placing much of the blame on Trejo's muscle-y shoulders. "He called me up and said, 'Let's make another one,'" Rodriguez wryly remarks.

"Machete Kills" is unique in that it's a fairly large-scale action movie that was produced wholly independently from Rodriguez's home studio just outside of Austin, Texas. Or, as the filmmaker says in the video: "It's myself and my facility and my crew."

You'll see brief interviews with much of the cast, including Michelle Rodriguez, Charlie Sheen, Gooding Jr., Antonio Banderas, and Bichir. Even Lady Gaga, who has a brief cameo in the film, offers her two cents, saying that Rodriguez is also "the DP, he's the editor," with Amber Heard adding that "he's a one man studio" -- which he kind of is.

If this "Behind the Machete" video doesn't get you stoked for all the hard-hitting, gore-soaked fun of "Machete Kills," then we don't know what will! After all, Rodriguez says, "It's the most fun I've had making a movie," and it's hard not to have a whole lot of fun watching this featurette.
