If you don't know what a meme is, prepare to be schooled.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, multi-talented writer/director/star of "Don Jon" and Internet enthusiast extraordinaire, has a thing or two to teach you (and co-star Scarlett Johansson) about the web phenomenon.
In the exclusive video above, the actor -- who's been thinking a lot about memes since becoming one earlier this year (see: "Joseph Gordon-Levitt Working Out"; hey, we had a little something to do with that) -- not only explains what one is, but details the origin of the word and how it became culturally absorbed by the interwebs. So, it turns out that Gordon-Levitt isn't just multi-talented, he's wicked smart, too.
If you like what you see (and who wouldn't?), then come back Wednesday (Sept. 25) for our full fan Q&A with Gordon-Levitt and Johansson, in which they discuss (among other things) perfecting a Jersey Girl accent, the magic of House of Pain's "Jump Around," and the sad act of eating chicken -- tons and tons of chicken.
"Don Jon" hits theaters everywhere September 27.
