into the woods lilla crawfordMonday, when Disney announced that production had begun on director Rob Marshall's upcoming adaptation of "Into the Woods," one notable name was missing from the lineup: Princess Sophia.

The pint-size viral video star -- whose real name is Sophia Grace Brownlee -- was said to be playing the part of Little Red Riding Hood in the musical, where she falls under the spell of the Big Bad Wolf (Johnny Depp). But when Disney's press release went out this morning, Sophia Grace had been replaced.

Taking the part instead is stage veteran Lilla Crawford, 12, who most recently starred in the title role in last year's Broadway revival of "Annie." No reason was given for the switch, though Crawford is a bit older than Brownlee, and already has plenty of musical experience. (Guess Brownlee's numerous appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" weren't enough to nab the part.)

Despite the musical chairs, the movie still has quite an impressive line-up of stars, including Depp, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Pine.

"Into the Woods" makes its debut December 25, 2014.
