Viola Davis doesn't play an adamantium-clawed mutant in the upcoming crime thriller "Prisoners," but she apparently decided to give co-star Hugh Jackman's "X-Men" diet a whirl during filming.
Yesterday, while at the L.A. premiere of their dark movie, which also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano, Davis explained the gist of the regimen to Variety: "You eat for eight hours and you fast for 16. It's a new diet thing, his Wolverine diet," she said.
According to Jackman, Davis liked the results.
"She overheard me in the makeup chair and about a month later she came to me and said, 'I have done it and it really works,'" the actor recalled, adding that he still sticks to it himself. "I have done it for the last two years. I'm finished and I don't need to be on any diet but I am still doing it."

Jackman recently revealed that "X-Men: Days of Future Past" may mark his final big-screen hurrah as Wolverine. "It may be the last," Jackman told MTV News while promoting "Prisoners" at the Toronto International Film Festival. "By the way, it didn't hit me until three weeks before the end [of shooting 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'] ... that's when I went, 'Well, who knows? Maybe there's no more Wolverine. Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe.' So I really made the most of those last few weeks. I enjoyed every time I put the claws on."
Denis Villeneuve's "Prisoners," which traces the harrowing search for two kidnapped girls, hits theaters September 20.
