Scary space movies seem all the rage these days -- from last year's "Prometheus" to Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity," which has been receiving great buzz during its recent tour of film festivals.
Another festival favorite, at least at Cannes earlier this year, was "Last Days of Mars" from Irish director Ruairi Robinson. The Mars-set sci-fi thriller stars Liev Schreiber, Olivia Williams, Romola Garai, and Elias Koteas as crew members on the first manned mission to the Red Planet. Just when they're set to return to Earth, one scientist finds evidence of life.
"This discovery changes everything," Williams marvels in a brand-new trailer.
But what form of life have they stumbled upon? Judging from the copious amounts of blood and terrifying screams in the trailer, not the friendly kind.
"Tomorrow is our last day. But I don't know if we're going to make it home," Schreiber intones.
"The Last Days on Mars" opens in the U.K. on September 19 and in the States on December 6. It will be available on VOD October 31.
