If you're a fan of the marvelous Tom Hiddleston (and really, who isn't?), then you probably want the actor to get his own movie featuring the villainous Loki of "Thor," "Thor: Dark World," and "The Avengers."
Toward that end, Hiddleston fans have mounted a "Free Loki" campaign on Change.org. "We feel Loki, due to the astounding following both the character and actor have earned as a result of the Marvel films, more than warrants further exploration of his story," the petition reasons. "We believe such an endeavor would not only be profitable and successful, but provide a larger view for general audiences of the incredibly complex and diverse personality a well-known villain of the Marvel universe is gifted with."
The petition has already garnered over 15,000 signatures toward its goal of 20,000.
As proof of Loki's rabid fandom, Hiddleston won this year's MTV Movie Award for Best Villain with an astounding 80 percent of the vote. The dastardly Asgardian became even more popular after the actor's rousing in-character appearance at Comic-Con in July.
Last September, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige told Moviefone that he's "surprised and happy" with the enormous response Hiddleston has gotten for his portrayal of Loki.
"The way that Tom brought Loki to life, with all of those different emotions and up to Hulk smashing him into the ground, we're already having fun with Tom on the set of 'Dark World.' We hope to have that continue," Feige said.
But how that will continue is the question. Although Hiddleston appears in this fall's "Thor: The Dark World," he won't be in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." So if Loki is going to get up to mischief again soon, it just might have to be in his own movie. On that note, get to signing!
