Looks like it wasn't the end after all.

After enjoying a successful summer at the box office, stoner apocalypse comedy "This Is the End" is getting a theatrical re-release, studio Sony announced this week. The flick will hit about 2,000 theaters beginning Friday, September 6, in anticipation of crossing the $100 million mark stateside.

"This Is the End" grossed $98.6 million at the domestic box office since bowing on June 14, in direct competition with "Man of Steel." The star-studded comedy, which features James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Craig Robinson, and many other Judd Apatow gang members playing themselves as they face the apocalypse, acted as counterprogramming to the superhero-loving crowd, and held its own among young adult males.

"'This Is the End' really struck a chord with comedy moviegoers this summer," said Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures. "For everyone who didn't get a chance to see it -- or saw it and loved it and wants to see it again on the big screen -- we are thrilled to have it back in theaters."

Rogen, who wrote and directed the comedy with longtime friend and collaborator Evan Goldberg, is equally jazzed:
