Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones may be on a temporary break, but that doesn't mean their nearly 13-year marriage is a lost cause.

While in Berlin promoting his HBO film "Behind the Candelabra," in which he stars as Liberace, the Emmy-nominated actor fielded at least one question about the recent news that he and Zeta-Jones are spending some time apart.

"I have a crisis at home?" Douglas said. "No, I think the press has a crisis. We, we are fine. My wife and I are, are fine. We're taking a temporary separation, but the press, it gives you stuff to write about."

People broke the story last week, with a rep for Zeta-Jones releasing a statement confirming the temporary split. "Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage," the rep explained.

The A-listers, who tied the knot in 2000 and are exactly 25 years apart in age, have two children together, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10. Their marriage has endured a stressful past few years, with Douglas battling stage IV throat cancer in 2010 and Zeta-Jones seeking treatment for bipolar II disorder in April 2011.

Douglas didn't help things earlier this summer when he inadvertently made headlines by naming oral sex as a potential cause of throat cancer.
