The James Brown biopic, which just cast its leading man, Chadwick Boseman, now has a title and a release date.

The film will be called "Get On Up," a reference to Brown's famous song "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine," and is slated to hit theaters October 17, 2014. The official plot synopsis notes that the movie "will give a fearless look inside the music, moves, and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century."

Boseman will play the Godfather of Soul for director Tate Taylor ("The Help"), and production is expected to start in Mississippi this fall. TheWrap reports that Taylor is also eyeing a reunion with his "Help" stars Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, who are reportedly being considered for roles in "Get On Up," though a source tells the site that no offers have been made yet.

Expect more exciting casting news for this film soon: TheWrap also notes that musicians Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Little Richard are depicted in the movie. At the very least "Get On Up" will feature a killer soundtrack.
