We all love George Takei, the actor who made Sulu famous in the original "Star Trek" TV show. Wouldn't it just make sense to give him a role in the next J.J. Abrams-directed "Star Trek" movie? C'mon, Leonard Nimoy has done it. Twice!

Takei is dropping the hint to Abrams that he'd love to take on a role, in whatever form. In an interview with The Huffington Post Canada TV, Takei has said he's "shameless" when it comes to making an appearance in the next movie.

Here's an excerpt from the interview:

If they ever asked you to take part in the next "Star Trek" movie, would you be interested in a cameo?
I've dropped hints to J.J., as a matter of fact. [Laughs] I'm totally shameless. Leonard [Nimoy] has done two cameos already, so ... the precedent has been set. I've been a captain when Spock has only been the First Officer.

You should do it.
I think it would be interesting if they made me up as an alien, and I could only be recognized by my voice. Wouldn't that be fun?

C'mon "Star Trek" fans, let's get Takei back on board the Enterprise!
